Who is IEP MOMMY??

Hi, I am Jenn

Being a mom to a child with a disability and special needs can be a lonely and isolating journey. No one should suffer in silence as I did for years. I’m a mom who has fought hard to get my children an IEP and 504 plan. I'm a retired Army attorney and have been an attorney for over 20 years. I aim to help as many parents as possible to help you through this challenging journey. You shouldn’t have to suffer in silence as I did. I have walked in your shoes and had to fight many of the same battles as you have faced. It’s been an exhausting, isolating journey. It should not be this hard. I started my blog to provide as many resources as possible to help advocate for your child.

IEP

IEPs have specific procedures and processes in place for the school to implement the best plan for your child. IEPs are tailored and individualized to each student. They are designed to tailor special education support and services for the student.

Special Education

Special education can include a wide range of services and support. It is tailored to meet the needs of your child. Special education adapts to what is taught and how it is taught for each child's individual needs.

504 Plan

A 504 plan deals specifically with how a student will be learning in school. 504 plans are for children with physical or mental impairments that substantially limit or restrict one or more of the student’s principal living activities.
